Detailed description

Project Summary

First, the project is proposing the elaboration of new and performant maintenance technologies; for specific locations inside the country, that are equipped with complex installations with functional turbo aggregate, for the purpose of growing the performance, and work safety of them and lowering the level of the maintenance and repair costs. Secondly, the project aims to develop and generalize, creating an original system for adaptive diagnostic for all types of turbo aggregates, based on the principle of predictive maintenance and on the operation time of the turbines. The purpose is to obtain a data base and information, so the proposed maintenance system could be implemented, and the function of these installations to comply with the EU standard for safety in work and environmental protection.

Inside the project it will be designed and realized a technology and a complex system for monitoring and diagnose, applying particular solutions with variable functioning parameters, so that the technologies been developed to be tested and checked.

The scientific and technological fields for “European research area”, that have been approached are from the most important (fields that sustain the restructuring of the traditional industries) and complex, they support the final purpose of the program: the increase of the competitively and the development of economy based on knowledge in European space.

The national development strategy of Romania on medium term highlights the need to respect the EU standards, foremost the one regarding the efficiency of the used installation and the one for environmental protection.

To realize a high level of fiability and to increased the efficiency for the turbine groups, is often used, two maintenance systems: preventiv and corrective-predictive. The first system – predictiv maintenance - is based on planning the inspection and revisions for equipment, it uses the rigid alghorithm of the rules and maintenance procedures. The second system combines the flexibility of the optimization and the monitoring - on the bases of the known risk, through which is perceived prediction – with the grow of the installation’s safety and economy. In the last two years have emerged new theories and aplications for keeping the equilibrium between operation’s safety, performance, and the costs and environmental protection. In the maintenance politics a greater part is occupied by the corectiv-predictive maintenance, concerned both with ensuring a greater functionallity for the equipment, work safety and environmental protection, and this is what our objective for this project represents.

Project’s Objectives

The issue that have to be solved within this project is of high importance for such an important matter like energy generation. This issue consists in ensuring the corrective – predictive maintenance corresponding to industrial turboinstalations that are parts of cogenerative plants. In this very moment, the above mentioned problem reprezents a big step to climb within the development and the exploitation of performant industrial turbomachines.

In order to increase the efficiency and the profit, the companies that manufacture cogenerative plants provided with turbine power group rely on rising the functioning time of the machines. An integrated maintenance plan (preventive and especially predictive) provides the industry with an alternate solution of maintenance. The team that participates in the elaboration of this thesis wishes to bring its contribution for rising of the reliability of the equipments, to increase their efficiency and, last but not least, to decrease the maintenance and repair costs. These purposes will be achieved by consistent use of maintenance algorithm and by restrictive, severe diagnosis control. A clear process will be issued, process that includes the most performant supervising practical activities corresponding to the functioning of turbomachines. The causes that generate malfunctions are revealed and quantified, a diagnosis is elaborated and corrective actions are proceeded in order to remove the cause and the arisen deficiency.

The evolution from our country of designing and manufacturing of industrial turbo machines (mainly P01) that are used especially within the cogenerative plants as well as the unavoidability of the integration in high performant industrial organizations (e.g. EU) impose the development of new engineering drafts and the absorbtion of the advanced technologies from the domain of maintenance of performant industrial turbomachines.

The objectives of this thesis are as follows:

- Designing of an unitary algorithm a new engineering drafts basis and the integration of advanced technologies within maintenance area, in order to increase the efficiency of industrial gas turbines. with high output that are parts of cogenerative plants.

- Creation of a movable system for ensuring predictive maintenance that are parts of cogenerative plants.

- Supervising of the functioning of the cogenerative installation and permanent improvement of the proposal algorithm.

The idea of corrective-predictive maintenance (a diagnosis basis, if necessary) with consistent applying over turbine power group of cogenerative plant had arisen from the need to reduce the total maintenance expenses, and in the same time, maintaining of a high acceptable reliability level. Accurate establishing of the ideal diagnosis period is a problem that has to be solved using the issued algorithm and by creating of a database corresponding to functionality and deficiencies.
