NOISE IMPACT OF AIRCRAFT WITH NOVEL ENGINE CONFIGURATIONS IN MID- TO HIGH ALTITUDE OPERATIONS
Programme: FP7
Grant agreement no.: 266046
Consortium:
Spain: Anotec Consulting SL - coordonator proiect
France: Airbus Operations SAS, SNECMA, Office National d'Etudes et de Recherches Aerospatiales (ONERA)
Romania:Institutul National de cercetare Dezvoltare Turbomotoare COMOTI Sweden: TOTALFORSVARETS FORSKNINGSINSTITUT
Great Britain: UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON, Rolls Royce PLC
Holland: Stichting Nationaal Lucht - en Ruimtevaartlaboratorium
Objective. The introduction of aircraft with advanced counter-rotating open rotor (CROR) power plants will improve specific fuel consumption by 10-15% relative to equivalent turbofans. The NINHA project will assess whether noise issues away from airports (i.e. during high altitude operations) will hazard the introduction of this new generation of power plants designed to improve fuel burn and reduce CO2 emissions beyond the ACARE 2020 objectives. |
