Project Summary
The aim of this project is to obtain the extension of the accreditation for the Acoustics and Vibration Laboratory, through the realization of a mobile system, which is equipped with the latest generation of hardware and software in order to realize the strategic noise map and the action plans. The main role is to measure the acoustic signal, to prevent and reduce the ambient and industrial noise produced by the major noise sources. This measure is requested through the 49/2002/CE Directive, implemented in our country through HG 321/2005.
The purpose of this project is to acquire equipments which are in compliance with the European Legislation, equipments used to realize the noise mapping. The noise map requested by the UE until 2007 June, must be realized for the major noise sources, especially road, railway, aircraft and industrial noise. This project will approach both from the theoretical and practical point of view the realization of noise map and actions plans, in order to identify the pollutant sources and to reduce the noise emitted by these sources.

Project’s Objectives
1. The main objective of this project is to assure the implementation of the EU specific legislation, more exactly the END Directive transpose in our legislation through HG 321/2005, in order to offer the noise mapping services for the companies and the zone delimitated by the legislation.
2. The assimilation and the implementation of the methods impose by the END Directive in order to realize noise maps.
3. To develop the evaluation services and conformity certification services in the fields imposed by the END Directive.
4. The extension of the laboratory accreditation involves also a improvement of the equipment installations and software performances and quality used for acoustic monitoring and prediction of the sound levels, used also for noise mapping.

Project’s stages
Stage I - Documentation regarding the EC Legislation. Calculation methods, norms
and equipments which are used for the realization of the strategic
noise maps.
Stage II - The acquisition of a complete system for monitoring, recording and post
analyzing the acoustics signals in order to make the noise maps for the
urban and aircraft noise.
Stage III - The elaboration of the working documentation, instructions and
appliance of the new techniques used at the acoustic monitoring and
realizing the noise maps. To obtain the extension of the accreditation
for the Acoustics and Vibration Laboratory we will elaborate and
deposit the documentation.
Stage IV - The extension of the accreditation for the Acoustics and Vibration Laboratory. Dissemination.
