Detailed Description

Project Summary

The project proposed to extend the methods used in laboratory and its capabilities, by assimilating new techniques in acoustics, in order to assure conformity evaluation services, in accordance with the standards that derive from the European standards regarding the noise pollution levels produced by the airplanes, cars and industrial equipment. We realized these by buying performing equipment that is capable to answer to the European requirements, which permit to the Acoustics and Vibrations Laboratory to access new European research project, financed by the European Commission, in the field of aviation and noise protection.

Project’s Objectives

General Objectives

The project objectives are connected to the Romanian integration in the European Committee. The main objective of the project was to extend the accredited fields of the Laboratory thru new techniques in order to increase the research-development capabilities of the Institute, necessary to vibration and noise pollution.

Measurable Objectives

1. Assimilation of new sound power measurement techniques;

2. Assimilation of intensity measurement technique through witch we can detect, fast and precise, the punctual noise source generator, in a functioning assembly;

3. Extend the acquisition of noise and vibrations signals in 12 channels simultaneously;

4. Assimilation of modal analyses techniques of the noise and vibration signals, with application at the industrial equipments that are in the phase of testing and homologation;

5. Increase the number of the laboratory team by attracting young graduated students.

Project stages

Stage I - Documentation regarding new measurement methods in the field of acoustics and vibrations assimilated at European level. Equipment acquisition.

Stage II - Elaborating the documentation concerning the laboratory performance evaluation. Personals training and equipment installation in the laboratory.

Stage III - Accreditation of the Acoustics and Vibrations Laboratory. Dissemination.
